Marvel tends to jump around in time, so much so that it's hard to tell what time period (or parallel reality) you're watching depending on the series or movie. Have you ever tried to watch every MCU movie in chronological order based on story timeline rather than release date? Let us be your guide:

The first one is kind of a no-brainer. The fictional timeline starts with Captain America: The First Avenger, whose story begins in 1940. Next up is Captain Marvel, which is set in 1995. Then we jump ahead in time to Iron Man, which begins in 2009, and then mostly takes place in 2010. The next handful of films are up for debate, as they are all set in 2010: Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton (remember that one?). Then there's The Avengers, set in 2012; Iron Man 3, set in 2012; Thor: The Dark World, set in 2013, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2—all set in 2014; Avengers: Age of Ultron, set in 2015; Ant-Man, set in 2015; Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange—all set in 2016 (big year for the Avengers!); Thor: Ragnarok, set in 2018; Ant-Man and The Wasp, set in 2018; Avengers: Infinity War, set in 2018; Avengers: Endgame, set in 2023; Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, set in 2024; Eternals, set in 2024; Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home, set in 2024; Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, set in 2024; Thor: Love and Thunder, set in late 2025; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, set in 2025-2026; Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, set in 2025-2026; and finally, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, set in 2026. No, we did not include any Disney+ series in this list, but something tells me the answers are just a Google search away.
